How the 9x12 Model Works

12–18 local businesses share one oversized postcard mailed to thousands of homes via USPS EDDM. Each business gets a dedicated spot with category exclusivity and a unique QR code. The cost is split, so everyone reaches more households for less money.

Why Shared Mailers Work

  • Shared cost — 12–18 businesses split print and postage
  • Category exclusivity — only one plumber, one dentist, one pizza place per card
  • QR tracking — every spot has a unique code so you can measure engagement
  • USPS EDDM routes — targeted by neighborhood, income, and household size
  • Staying power — oversized postcards with local deals get kept, not tossed

Two Sides, One Platform

Operators run the drops. Local businesses buy the spots. SpotDrops handles the platform side for both.

Operators

Operators pick the neighborhoods, set the pricing, and handle printing and mailing. SpotDrops automates payments, intake, EDDM planning, and QR tracking. $0/month — 7% when spots sell.

From Drop to Mailbox

1

Operator creates a drop

Pick the neighborhoods you want to serve, select USPS mail routes, choose a card format, and set spot pricing. Your drop goes live with a shareable link.

2

Businesses buy spots

Businesses visit the drop page, pick an available spot in their category, pay via Stripe, and upload their logo and business details — all in one flow.

3

Card locks and goes to print

Once all spots are sold (or the deadline hits), the operator locks the card, exports artwork and business details, and sends it to print.

4

USPS delivers to every home

Printed cards are mailed via USPS Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) to every household on the selected routes. No mailing list needed.

5

QR codes track engagement

When someone scans a QR code, both the operator and the business see it in real-time. Scans, page visits, and clicks are all tracked.

Mail a card? Your territory is protected.
